Urban Decay Diaries Returns in July!

After a brief hiatus, our Webcomic, “Urban Decay Diaries” will make its return. Tune in for a July update. We’ll be back to our weekly schedule.

Does it mean that we’re in clear waters regarding our family members conditions? Well not exactly but for waiting so patiently, we want to be able to cater to your viewing needs.

Further Delays

Unfortunately we may be delayed even further as we are currently going through a family crisis at the moment. We sincerely apologize for this. We will continue to update our other site (comic news site: LW’s World of Popculture Goodies) but Urban Decay Diaries has been delayed each time a particular member of our immediate family is re-admitted to the hospital so it’s been quite difficult juggling several of our online projects.

In the meantime, our family member is stable but continues to have fluid drained from him as his liver continues to fail. At this point, we can only pray for a miracle.

Thank you for your continued support and if you have any comments or questions regarding the items from this website or our news website, don’t hesitate to ask.

Again, we will still update LW’s World of Popculture Goodies and Urban Decay Diaries will be back to it’s regular schedule soon.

Oh..you might notice a slight change with the previous page (pg 11). See there was a bit of a time laps between panels 1 and 2 and it slipped my mind to convey the sun’s position. So yeah…you’ll notice the sun starting to set, heh.

Oh and “brownie points” for my fellow Los Angelinos if they can guess what area they are running through.

UDD Diary Entry 3 continued: Page 10

Can’t believe I managed to get this one out. Took too long getting reference material since I was too busy with my second line of work. With tax season in the air and a mortgage to worry about, I’ll admit it has messed up my current schedule badly…heh, no tax refund for Wolfie (Ouch!). But I managed to start the next page right away so that *MIGHT* show up in a day or two.

I know Diary entry 3 seems kind of slow at the moment, but things will start to pick up soon. There will be some sort of action as this and right now, we haven’t quite skimmed the surface. Afterall, the crew just got to their destinations lol.

So yeah…Diary entry 3 is still going, heh.

You know what’s bothersome at times? When you’re creating roughdraft layouts and then you realize that you are short on graphite. At hours when I need to get some graphite sticks, art stores are closed so I’m only left with a wacom tablet and Photoshop with pencil-like brushes. As much as I love the pencil brushes that I’ve implemented in Photoshop, it will never have the same kind of life that a graphite pencil has. You just can’t replicate the same amount of pressure with your digital strokes and it’s so cookie cutter.

For me rough pencils add more character as I try to stay true to traditional penciling but I suppose I should be grateful that there is an alternative when the traditional tools are not available at my disposal. Oh well…I’ll hit the art shop tomorrow, though I may have to do page 10 entire with a wacom pen. I guess I’ll just play it by ear.

On another note, Christian and I have been contemplating other advertising methods since we’ve already hit social networking sites as well as the main webcomic ranking list sites. I remember back in the 80′s and early 90′s, when you wanted to spread the word of your little “Indie” comic, you hit the mom and pop comic book shops and ask to leave flyers on their counters. We might just do that. Plus it’s a good way to interact with shop owners/employees and talk comics as well as ‘turkey’. It’s also an excuse to shop for comics lol.

If you live in the Los Angeles county area, don’t be surprised if you happen to come across an “Urban Decay Diaries” flyer sitting on some counter. Heck, we’re even thinking of making UDD car magnets for our friends and family to advertise on their own vehicles hahaha!
