Some news from the grapevine, folks. In fact I posted some info when I encountered an existing thread somewhere else.

Here’s some info I posted when I encountered the thread. In case you didn’t catch the news, Media Works’ Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine has announced that the 舞-HiME EXA manga will be in the next issue which is released around the 27th of January.
Here are some other thoughts that I had previously posted on the forum thread:
Hmmm….different artist this time, interesting. Koteiryu’s artwork is definitely different from the original manga artist, Satou Kenetsu so it should be interesting. I guess the artwork is going to look more like Fate/Stay Night. Funny, I think I’m going to miss the original artist though. And I loved the Mai Otome Manga….so much better than the anime adaptation of Otome. It was true shonen at it’s best though there were borderline seinen themes. The publisher, Akita Shonen does get pretty risque at times.
As for the script, it’s amazing that it’s not going to be written Hiroyuki Yoshino this time around though I’m guessing he’s busy with another project. So now that the script is being handled by Ryo Suzukaze, this might be something to look forward to. I especially liked the script composition for the anime, Demonbane but I’m not familiar with .Hack//Cell though it looks like that’s just about to come out.
EDIT: Just finished reading the interview at http://www.my-zhime.net/others/index.html
Sounds like the new artist is really excited about this new project. Apparently he fell in love with the Mai Hime series after episode 8. He’s also admitted to really liking the characters, Mashiro and Fumi. Awww how cute…he sounded nervous that this was his first Hime project but I love the enthusiasm he has.
I’m pretty excited for the new developments!^^ According to him, chapter 1 should definitely be some kind of surprising revelation.

There is some other Mai Hime related news…
While lingering on the official website, I also discovered a few minutes ago that they will be holding a special Mai Hime event at the Sunshine Cinema in Ikebukuro (which is around where the Sunshine 60 mall is located.)
Anyhow, this event will take place on February 1st and conclude on the 2nd.
Guests that are scheduled to appear are Mai Nakahara and Ai Shimizu (Day 1), Naomi Shindou, Yuuka Nanri, and the producer (Day 2). Looks to be a Q & A session and a celebration of the Blu-Ray release.

Next post will contain a record of what occurred during Christmas. Gotta admit, it was pretty fun.
Until then,

I have had until now only time read here (work and other fandom ^^’)
Now is time for a comment…Your work for Projekt Muse is impressive and I do really love it. Sorry for no comments but to write a good/detailed comment I do need very much time.
To your post to “nicknames”: I can only say to it that I don’t like (more hate) nicknames in any way. I haven’t to much pleasure to read fanfiction with wrong Japanese nicknames from anime or manga written in it. My opinion is if character has a nickname, the people can also use it otherwise don’t make nicknames with Japanese names!
Ps:I still try to learn Japanese (more bad but I try -.- )
Thanks for advice =)
The Otome manga was more than better especially the drawing style and storyline so, yes I love it too. The 舞-HiME manga was terrible for me because of it I don’t know whether is a good idea. I’ll wait and hope it is better.
Sorry for my (still) bad English and I wish you a happy new year!

Thank you! We’ll have a print version of the Projekt MUSE universe sometime next year so please look out for that. There’s more Projekt MUSE fun on the way. ^^

Yeah, I also agree. While I’ll miss the original artist and the original script composition writer, I welcome the 2 new additions to the HiME universe. They sound pretty excited about the project and that alone makes me excited as well. I like seeing the enthusiasm from creators since it shows that they truly care about their line of work and the project that they are working on.

Happy New Year to you too! ^^

Hm. Interesting. They changed the artist, huh? I wonder why. I guess it’s good that they still clearly think about Mai HiMe since I sort of figured they had forgotten about it.
I guess it’ll be interesting to see if the shiznat changes at all with a new writer. It’s good that they sound excited though, because that means they’ll do a good job ^^
Surprising revelation? Hm. I wonder what that could be. Looking at that above picture, I think I will definitely miss the original artist… but oh well. It’s good to see they’re still working on it.
Thanks again for the info, LW!
And I am about to respond to your email!

Yeah I’m curious about that as well. I just hope that this new writer keeps the current conventions in the manga and not change anything drastically. Hopefully he won’t be changing anyone’s existing sexual orientation…*cough*.

Yeah I hope he doesn’t illustrate the characters to looking exactly like Fate/Stay Night characters lol. Though I see the small resemblance in the image above. I guess I’ve seen worse art. (Nekomimi novel for example)
Thanks again for the info, LW!
No prob!

Looking forward to it!

I read about this in another blog and I can’t really wait for it to see what it will have to show us!!
And since I love the art of Fate/Stay Night, surely I will love this one!!
I just hope the new artist will give us a little bit more of NatsuShizu. x3
(for a moment I read Mai-Hime EXIA…..lol…..to much gundam perhaps? XD)
BTW, I would like to know what do you think about the anime adaptation of Seikon no Quasar (?), I’ve read some chapters of the manga…and well…I wonder how they will handle it….(because the artist is the same that did the Mai-hime/otome manga….right?)

Yeah I noticed that the more I look at Koteiryu’s art on that page, it’s starting to grow on me which makes me anticipate it even more.

Same here…I actually hope that he liked that angle when he viewed Mai Hime for the first time. Sounds like we may get Mashiro/Fumi though, since he likes those two lol.

LOL, same company so it could happen.

Oh I haven’t actually seen the anime adaptation. How many episodes are out? Makes me wonder if they added all the lactating LOL.
(because the artist is the same that did the Mai-hime/otome manga….right?)
Yup! That is correct. I especially liked how the artist added a Natsuki/Shizuru cameo in there lol.

Hi! thanks so much for your e-mail I corrected the link and tomorrow I will publish it.
Kisses!
The general storyline is generally the same or similar in a lot of ways. The manga does go deeper and slightly quicker than the anime I think.
