This is about a day late so I apologize. Have been multi-tasking as usual and last night had to do some concert photography so I couldn’t finish until after I got back. So….
…about the image above, they are apparently the main characters of this alternative WW2 universe…and Germany is one of the good guys ^_- (no swastika’s will be used for this universe). The character designs were based on the character description that I received from series creator.
- For the first gal (on the far right…or rather…the gal looking directly at the viewer) , the design was inspired by a few sources: Mainly from Valkyria Chronicles and even the old anime series, Compiler…brownie points if you can guess which two characters hairstyles I combined from “Compiler”. With that character’s upbringing, I was attempting to make her look like a porcelain doll and not a hair out of place, heh. Her military rank is a “Major” so you’ll notice that I had to do some further research and find a Major’s WW2 Luftwaffe uniform to reference. Luckily I found the exact Blue/gray tunic that they wore back then. There are some modifications of course but the resemblance is still a bit noticeable. For now, all you need to know is that her first name is Wilhelmina.
- The gal in the middle is the SAME gal that was in the previous promo image (the girl on the WW2 BMW bike). She’s a broody type so I had to create something that resembled ‘offstandish-looking’. Her leather jacket is based off of the WW2 Luftwaffe M essersmicht aviation jacket. The interesting thing I found out about this jacket is that while the Luftwaffe pilots sported the same type of flying jacket, it wasn’t actually a standard issue jacket…apparently they purchased them from French retailors as it was originally a leather biker civilian jacket in France. She also has the standard Hauptman tunic similar to Wilhelmina’s. So anyway, this gal’s military rank is a “Hauptman” and goes by the name of Adalwolfa.
- The last gal (and drunk one) was originally described to me as a Bavarian. So when she is not in uniform, the series creator had asked me to design a version of her with a typical Bavarian Beer maiden outfit since she is a beer maiden LOL. Just by the description alone, I can already tell that she’ll provide some comic relief so that’s why I illustrated her in such a manner…with that HUGE Beer Stein. Her uniform tunic/jacket is similar to Wilhelmina’s but the difference is definitely in her military ranking which is “Leutnant” (NOT MISPELLED…look up german military rankings LOL). She’s of the working class and she goes by the name of Brunhilde.
- NOTE: Their “surnames” will be released at a later time.
The project is progressing and one of the delays in getting this particular image out was having to wait for the finalized copyright information. And I finally had the title treatment approved (lol, it feels like I’m working at that *cough* “deathstar” again). So that also means I don’t have to use that “sample” watermark for other illustrations until further notice. ^_^;;
Anyway, the title treatment is on the image if you haven’t figured it out by now and this will be the FIRST project where I actually use my alias, “Lone Wolf” . For every project that I’ve worked on so far (Industry Related), I’ve always used my real name but this was a new schtick that the marketing team originally “greenlighted” in the last video game project I designed for. This was so that they could hit a particular demographic that consists of my blog visitors. On an average week, I usually get about 2500 hits a week but everytime I post artwork or something relevant to NatsuShizu or AruSheri, I can get about 3500-4000 in just that same week….so it all depends on the subject matter.
So “LW” it is…oddly enough. LOL
The official website for Projekt MUSE is underway according to my boss so upon completion, I’ll post the link. And just an FYI….Projekt….is also NOT a typo….it’s intentionally spelled with a “K” since the main military unit is German. So once the site is up we’ll provide link banners for anyone interested.
There’s some other data that I received from the boss but I haven’t been given the greenlight to post any further details just yet.
For now, you’ll have to treat the following information as approved “leaks” LOL
The next Promo image will be posted next week (again to reiterate, it’s a “once a week” format”). We’ll also have T-shirts available for sale very soon.

Lol, yeah I thought about that for a bit. I’ve been using the name since 2000 and even had it tattooed to my back so I guess I’ve more-or-less trademarked myself hahahaha. Ah, but that is a good idea that you suggested though.
Ah so you’re fanning over Wilhelmina? Yes, I have to admit I’m fond of her as well. Each of these girls had it rough at one point which drove them to join this unit to defeat…woops! I’ll save that for another day. But hopefully it has wet your appetite a bit more.

Cool! Yeah from what I’ve seen of the story concept, it sounds pretty good. I’m hoping that fans of Strike Witches would give this one a shot. we may just start out with a manga though. I’ll have to ask the boss what our further plans are but not to fret…I’ll definitely keep everyone updated.

There’s a meeting tonight to discuss further plans and I think we’ll be discussing the website as well. I’ll keep you posted with what I find out. I’ll see which piece info I’m allowed to release. ^^

Lol, you know the funny thing is, that the last name will be utilized once again, hahahaha! When we were going through German surnames months ago, I presented my family tree full of german ancestors on my mothers side and we ended up perusing a bunch of common names in there….Rauschenberg makes another appearance LOL…although more for comic relief though. Actually we’re thinking of having a poll of what kind of merchandise people might be interested in. That might be included in the next promo image post but if you have any ideas please feel free to share them.
The one thing that I’ve had terrible experience with (especially the creator of the series since he’s also a video game producer) is that the usual marketing teams we had to deal with were pain in the arses. They just didn’t know their target demographic well enough and many of their marketing spiels and schemes were based on assumptions and generalizations…geez, when I was working with that company that rhymes with the “Nandai” (Lol, sorry I have to use codewords), you’ll never guess how they were originally going to market the domestic version of “My Hime”.
Their original spiel or tagline was “Harry Potter meets Sailor Moon.”
I think I wanted to die when I heard this. >_>;;;; It was even worse when we were on the Code Geass project…the sales person didn’t know much about the “CLAMP” angle and just automatically assumed that Code Geass was intended for just the male demographic because of the “Mecha”…can you believe how sexist that is? While it’s true that Sunrise specializes in only Shounen type series, the CLAMP aspect was an exception and a first for Sunrise.I would have busted a nut if I had one. Good thing the CEO set him straight LOL.
Marketing (especially out here in Los Angeles) is VERY Hollywood-esque and they don’t have a clue about how to cater to the fans especially since they rarely interact with them. We are hoping to change that with our future products and that’s why I’ll be posting surveys on this site for opinions from the fans.

Hmmm…you might have…but most of my recent work was concept and package design work for a few series (I would at times create the concepts for the actual box styles). If you go to some DVD stores that still carry DVD anime limited edition box sets from “Nandai” then you’ve most likely seen some of my stuff.

Honestly, I don’t care if the shoujo ai is in the background against the main war-aspect storyline, just as long as it’s done tastefully and one of the girls doesn’t end up running to a guy in the end after everything is said and done. It’s like, don’t tease me with the girl-on-girl action then take it away from me! I like it when the couple stays together after everything is said and done. I’m really easy to please in the relationship and storyline aspect in that way.
I pulled my hair out during Kannazuki no Miko and that’s why I don’t like Himeko, but I love Chikane. Chikane is the character that got me interested in anime in the first place, so she’s my first love you could say. But god, I hate Himeko with a passion. /weird

I definately wouldn’t have watched it, if I happened to have been into anime at the time. I’m quite late to the game, you see. I still have yet to watch Mai HiME with the English dubbing just because I love the Japanese voices so much better. I watched Kannazuki no Miko with the English dubbing and now I can’t watch it with the Japanese voices. KnM was the first anime I had watched. ^_^; Since then I watch all anime with the Japanese voices.
It’s like the first adaption you watch of something ends up being your favorite and you find it hard to like with different voices, etc. I refuse to read the Mai HiME manga just because it deviates so far from the anime. That, and Natsuki and Tate equals no. Just no.

Yeah really! I like mecha too! Generalizations are a bad thing, indeed. I started watching that anime based on the mecha because I was still on a Gundam kick. I ending up liking the series and forgetting about the mecha. XD

That’s great! I can’t speak for others but it makes me feel good, that the creators and everything are actually interested in what the fans think. It makes me feel more involved and ends up with me liking the series more, and in turn I’ll be more interested in future releases from the company.

I watched the anime first. It was the third ever anime I watched. XD The anime adaption still happens to be my favorite, and Shizuma is my all time favorite character out of every single anime I have watched, which is into the 200s now. The anime is good if you’re not nitpicky, you kind of just have to take it for what it is. It’s crack-ish, but I love it all the same. I also really like the art style for the anime for some reason. It kind of reminds me of the art style from the first season of Marimite, which had the best art style in my opinion compared to later seasons.
I don’t happen to like Shizuma paired with any of the characters from the series, so a solo Shizuma would be great if you ever get around to it! Ah I’ll shut up now ^_^;

Yeah she’ll be broody and a bit stand-offish. Our series creator is working on the bios so we’ll have that posted up soon. One thing about Adalwolfa is that she’s pretty deep too.

Well I never bothered to finish the other story so I may not even start this new one she had written LOL.
Oh but yeah…the thing that gets me is when I read some of the comments from reviewers saying, “Oh this is SOOOO original, please keep it up!”
It just makes me want to gag…perhaps they should attempt to read the past 79 pages which consist of rehashed story concepts. Hahahahaha!
